I'm really a big fan of applications for Facebook; especially since Facebook made the change to only allowing iFrame applications going forward. It really does open a whole new range of possibilities for dive centers.
Custom landing pages as Facebook applications are an absolute must for dive centers on Facebook. Since they are applications, it also means that they are installable into any Facebook Business page by anyone.
This is great if you have multiple locations, of if you are a Certification Agency or a Dive Gear manufacturer. You can provide these for multiple Facebook Properties.
For example; if you have multiple dive centers and each have a separate Facebook Page (for location purposes), you can create one application and install that on all of your pages. It affords you the opportunity to have a consistent branding message across all of your facebook properties. A certification agency could also create an app that you as a dive center could install as well.
But it also means that if you want to support a cause that's meaningful to you and your divers and there's an application for it, then you can also install that application on your facebook page.
This simple Facebook Application draws attention to the plight of endagered shark species througout the world and encourages divers to sign the petition on the Project Aware website. I can't think of any dive center who would not want to support this initiative.
As a Dive Center it's really very easy for you to install it and draw attention to this worthy cause.
Personally, I'm not sure if Project Aware has provided dive centers instructions on how to install this application.

Now, if you want to see what the page looks like prior to installing it just go to My Facebook Page on the Take Action Now Tab, or you can go directly to the App Page.
I hope you'lll install this app along with giving some thought as to how a custom landing page can help your dive center as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to post on here or email me at
